Presidential Award for Innovative Researcher

📢 Applications open for the first edition of the #Prix_du_Président_de_la_République_pour_le_chercheur_innovant.
🟢 As part of efforts to promote scientific research and innovation and boost the national economy, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the opening of applications for the first edition of the President of the Republic’s Prize for the Innovative Researcher, an initiative designed to support innovation and applied research by honoring outstanding researchers who contribute to the development of knowledge and technology in Algeria.
The award is part of a national strategy to encourage scientific research and innovation, and to strengthen the role of researchers in technological progress and economic development. The prize is an effective tool for encouraging researchers to submit innovative scientific work that contributes to solving the country’s problems in multiple fields, including science and technology, health, the environment and safety.
The prize is part of a national strategy to encourage scientific research and innovation by rewarding innovative research characterized by its originality and scientific value, in addition to its desired economic and social impact in advancing development. The prize is also designed to support the national skills of researchers in the field.

🟢 The award covers several priority scientific areas, identified according to national and international issues, and is classified as follows:
🔘 Science and technology.
🔘 Health and biomedical sciences.
🔘 Environment and sustainable development.
🔘 Humanities and social sciences.
🔘 Information security.
🔘 Food safety.
🔘 Water security.
🔘 Energy security.
The prize is awarded according to two main categories corresponding to different levels of research expertise. The Research Professors and Permanent Researchers category is aimed at university professors, permanent researchers and university clinical professors who have carried out high value-added research and contributed to the development of their scientific field. The University Student category is dedicated to Master’s and Doctorate level students whose research projects have been characterized by innovation and the search for new scientific solutions that contribute to meeting national and international challenges, thus reinforcing the culture of scientific research and motivating future generations to create, develop and innovate.

🟢 To ensure a transparent and fair evaluation process, the award is based on a rigorous and objective evaluation grid that includes several key criteria. Firstly, originality and innovation are assessed to measure how innovative and distinctive the project is from existing research. Secondly, scientific, economic and social impact is taken into account to determine the extent to which the project contributes to the advancement of knowledge, job creation or the improvement of quality of life. Thirdly, industrial applicability is assessed to determine whether the research can be transformed into a marketable product or service. Finally, intellectual property rights are taken into account, by checking whether the research is protected by patents or collaboration contracts with industrial organizations. Together, these criteria ensure a comprehensive and fair assessment of the projects submitted.
🟢 The evaluation process consists of four main stages to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection of winners, starting with the initial verification of applications, which guarantees that they meet all the required conditions. This is followed by scientific and technical evaluation, during which research projects are subjected to rigorous appraisal by panels of referees specialized in different scientific fields.

🟢In addition to official certificates of recognition reflecting the scientific excellence of the winning candidates, valuable financial prizes will be awarded according to the targeted categories. Winners in the #Professeurs_Recherche category will receive prizes ranging from 5,000,000 Dirhams for first prize, 3,000,000 Dirhams for second, and 2,000,000 Dirhams for third. Of equal value, prizes are awarded to winners in the #UniversityStudents category, ensuring real support for innovators at different academic levels, and encouraging them to continue their research and innovation efforts.
🟢 In addition to financial rewards, the winners will receive support in filing patents and registering intellectual property rights to ensure their innovations are protected, as well as practical guidance in developing research projects into economically viable solutions. It will also offer them partnership opportunities with industrial organizations, enabling them to benefit from the applications of their research in productive sectors, and increasing the chances of integrating their innovations into national, regional and international markets.
🟢Entries for the award are submitted exclusively via the dedicated digital platform, ensuring ease of access and transparency of the process. Following the evaluation and selection stages, the winners will be announced at an official ceremony held each year on April 16, coinciding with the celebration of #FlagDay.
🟢 The Prix du Président de la République du Chercheur Innovant is a historic gesture that reflects the ambitious vision of building a knowledge-based economy, as well as an important step in the process of supporting scientific research and innovation in Algeria.
