Office of the university’s digitalization strategy
The Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS) plays a crucial role in promoting digitization within the country’s universities and research institutions. Aware of the many benefits that digital technology can bring to higher education, research and administration, MESRS has put in place a number of initiatives and strategies to achieve this digital transformation. In November 2022, it launched an ambitious plan to digitize the higher education and research sector.
The Bureau de la stratégie numérique (BSN) is a body created by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to guide the implementation of the sector’s digitization plan. This body plays a crucial role in coordinating the efforts of the various players involved in this process, including universities and research institutes.
According to the digitization directive defining the organization and operation of digitization strategy offices, the University of Tissemsilt’s digitization strategy office is responsible for promoting, coordinating, evaluating and developing the university’s digital activities, as part of the national policy for the digitization of higher education and scientific research establishments.
Tasks :
In this respect, the Digitization Strategy Office is responsible for
- Implement the digitization master plan through the roadmap drawn up by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which defines the path to be followed to achieve the digitization of the university.
- Prepare a list of the digital resources needed to implement the university’s digitization project.
- Evaluate and propose the human and financial resources required to implement the university’s digitization program.
- Study and propose all measures to disseminate, publish and evaluate the results of the university’s digitization program.
- Evaluate local cooperation activities between different university structures in the field of digitization.
- Prepare an IT charter defining the conditions of use of the university’s IT resources.
- Prepare a file including an inventory of the university’s digital capabilities through an inventory of available equipment and digital platforms.
- Ensure adequate training for technical and administrative staff, so that they are able to optimize the use of digital resources.
